The 28 rooms, public areas and restaurant have bulging floor-to-ceiling glass windows for jaw-dropping views of Table Mountain and out to Robben Island. The in-the-know concierge can get you a reservation at most of the popular restaurants, and The Pot Luck Club (a sharing, tapas-style menu) and Shortmarket Club (updated classics from an open kitchen) should definitely be on your itinerary – both are under the helm of chef Luke Dale-Roberts. Highlights include an asparagus dish modernised with a hazelnut and miso hollandaise porcini purée and Parmesan slow-roasted pork cheek drizzled honey. Oh, and don’t miss Café, a short walk from the waterfront. It’s a great spot hip locals while lunching on calamari with salsa verde and and line-caught kingklip.
