Where? La Boqueria

What’s great about this restaurant is its market-style variety of food. If you’re heading out with a large crowd, everyone’s tastes can be catered for. The menu is divided into various sections, like Coal & Hearth, Tapas, and Raw & Cured.

We recommend heading to the Soul Bowls section. The Wonder Bowl is a must – a hot rammen noodle bowl with miso broth, pak choi, pickled cabbage, field mushrooms, spring onion, sprouts, poached egg and chilli nori flakes (pork fillet or grilled rump). Stunning décor and a buzzing vibe make this the perfect spot for sharing bowls.

WHERE? DETOX HEALTH BAR

The focus at this juice-and-health bar is fresh, high-quality, locally sourced seasonal fruit and veg. They use an imported Norwalk hydraulic press juicer, so their juices and smoothies retain much more nutrients than those made using normal juicers. It’s famous for its nutrient-rich superfood smoothies. The recipes were all developed by well-known chef, nutritionist and vegan guru Storm Rodgers. Try the popular Cacao Kiss, a blend of dates, banana, vanilla, cashews, almond milk, agave nectar, raw organic mesquite and sugar-free peanut butter.

WHERE? EARTHMOTHER ORGANIC CAFÉ

Set in a lush garden, this café is part of a natural and organic retail shop that’s been going for 17 years now. The owners’ food philosophy is based on the principles of simple, delicious flavours and healthy living. All the produce is sourced from local producers and farmers. Need an energy boost? Order their Get Up & Go, made with almonds, brazil nuts, coconut oil, green powder, protein powder, banana and moringa. Or try a falafel Buddha Bowl Salad, made with a yummy lemon tahini dressing.
