If you have an emotional disability, you can legally qualify for ESA, short for emotional support animals. You must be certified as emotionally disabled by a psychologist, therapist, psychiatrist or other properly licensed and / or certified mental health professional. This certification should be a formal and properly formatted letter.
Any other doctor – a cardiologist, for example – does not qualify as a mental health professional because unlike a psychiatrist, other doctors are not specialists in mental health. Animal emotional support letter must be written on the letterhead of mental health professional, include your license type, date of the license, license number and state that issued the license. What Should A Letter Contain
