OneWest Art Center is a non-collecting art gallery with a focus on regional contemporary art. Located in a 1911 Italian Renaissance Revival post office building, the Art Center presents ten to twelve shows per year in two spacious galleries.

The Discoven Museum, Connecticuts adventure in art and science, is the largest hands-on art and science museum between Netv York and Boston. Its facilities include the Henry B. duPont III Planetarium; Simpson Galleries, which feature five specially curated art exhibitions annually; Challenger Learning Center, a sophisticated, computer simulated space station and mission control faciht\ Discovery Preschool Center, with a dozen skill-development activities for preschooler and parent; Wonder Workshop, an early childhood education center; 132 hands-on art and science exhibits for all ages; and a gift shop The museum encourages adults and children to explore topics of physical science and the arts and their interrelationships through experimentation with exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, and other specialized programming.

Housatonic Museum of Art is part of Housatonic Community College, within walking distance of the train station, in downtown Bridgeport. The Museum has an important permanent collection and also presents temporary exhibitions. The collection consists chiefly of 20th-century American art and significant ethnographic holdings, featuring African sculpture. It includes works by Archipenko. Chagall, Christo, Elaine de Kooning, Lichtenstein, Marsh, Miro, Moore. Oldenberg, Ossorio, Picasso, Rauschenberg, Renoir, Rivers, Schieber, and Shinn, among many others.
