The queen’s palace was located in what is now the hotel’s Cocon. The hotel reopened to the public in February 1947. The boutiques showcase luxury gift items. Here, you also find logo goods, fashion retailers, and organic body products. The Royal Hawaiian is one of Honolulu’s best resorts. Its closest competitors in town are the 5-star Halekulani Hotel and Kahala Hotel. The hotel’s interior features a classic, grana decor. It feels a bit old fashioned but still captivates a decidedly chic Hawaiian atmosphere. The lobby ceiling features a bright pink color.
It complements the Royal Hawaiian’s pink stucco facade. The hotel put Hawaii on the travel map of wealthy travelers in the early 20th century. The lobby opens to a lovely, ocean front lawn. Stretching all the way to Waikiki Beach, this spacious venue is perfect for events. The hotel’s Mai Thai Bar is located along the lawn. The beach is very alive, both during the day and the night. The suite features a separate bedroom. The space is furnished with custom dark wood, crisp white bedding, and boudi. The bathroom is small but functional. I am not a fan though of taking a shower in the bathtub. The pool is lined by luxurious lounge chairs.
